Gunners want to tie Chilean down on new long-term deal
Arsenal have begun contract talks with Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
The Chilean arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2014 following his move from FC Barcelona, and he’s been a hit in the Premier League ever since.
Arsenal coughed up £32million to sign the winger, and agreed to pay him £130k-a-week, making him one of the club’s highest ever earners.
However, according to reports, officials at the club want to offer the 26-year-old more money and a new five-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at the club until he’s at least 31.
New Deal
Reports are claiming that Alexis‘ wage could rise from £130k-a-week to £180k-a-week, which would see him earn roughly the same as Mesut Ozil, who is also close to agreeing a new deal at the club.
Officials from the clubs have held preliminary talks with Alexis and they are confident a deal can be agreed to sooner rather than later.
