Arsenal boss has revealed his plans following the inevitable departure of Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his plans following the loss of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

The Chilean is expected to join the Red Devils very soon and photos have leaked recently of the star taking a selfie in a Manchester United kit.

And while the loss of Sanchez will be a huge blow, it seems Arsene Wenger is not too worried given Arsenal are set to complete a deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to join the Gunners from Manchester United in a straight swap deal with Sanchez.

Wenger said: ‘I cannot understand anybody wanting to leave Arsenal.

“But in 30 years of doing transfers, you learn a lot about human beings. As a professional, it was perhaps his [Sanchez] last contract at the top level and an important contract.

“We did what we tried to do and went as far as we could (with money). Even Manchester City moved out of it in the end. That tells you we had no chance to give him a contract.

“Arsenal Football Club is 130 years old and many big players have left. Will it go a bit less good? We will see. But there is always life afterwards.”

And Wenger continued by stating he has faith in Henrikh Mkhitaryan to fill the shoes of Sanchez.. no pressure Henrikh.

“We have tried to find the best possible solution and the best possible solution is that we lose a world class player – I don’t deny that at all – but we did not lose him without getting somebody after. The future will tell if it was the right decision or not.”
