Arsenal are prepared to meet Valencia defender Jose Luis Gaya’s £13.5 million release clause in order to lure the defender to the Emirates this January.
Arsene Wenger’s lack of transfer activity in the summer along with the numerous injuries that have plagued the Gunner side, have left the Frenchman with limited options at the back.
The club have recently agreed a fee for Gabriel Paulista, but the North Londoners are seemingly chasing 19 year-old Gaya in order to bolster their defensive options.
The club will face fierce competition from Real Madrid for the player’s signature, however the Premier League outfit are prepared to meet his release clause this month in order to secure his services.
The defender has impressed whilst at the Mestalla and the Spanisj club are reportedly ready to improve his contract to retain the hot prospect.
