The 20 year-old has caught the eye of a number of European clubs after enjoying a fantastic start to the Portuguese season.

Talisca moved to Benfica in the summer from Bahia in his home country of Brazil but that hasn’t deterred the interest of scouts, who continue to monitor his progress.

However the player himslef has ruled out a move, saying his mind is only with the Portuguese champions and hopes to learn the ropes of European football in Lisbon.

He told Portuguese paper O Jogo: “I am thinking only of Benfica.

“I’m ready, I know I have and am able to learn much from this wonderful group, with supporters and with the coach.”

It is believed that the Brazilian has a buyout clause of ÂŁ18m and Arsenal in particular have singled him out as a target to replace Lucas Podolski, who will likely leave in January.

Jose Mourinho and Brenden Rodgers are also aware of his development, depite Liverpool already bringing in two attacking midfielders in the summer in Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic.
