The 22 year-old holding midfielder is being tracked by Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, and Sporting Lisbon are reportedly willing to do business with any potential buyers.
Carvalho has a buyout cluase of £37m but the club are thought to be willing to consider accepting a lower fee.
The player himself has made it clear that he would like to leave at some point in the future, and Sporting would like to seize the chance to cash out on the highly rated Portuguese star.
He told the Portuguese Association’s magazine recently: “We all have ambitions and I hope one day to play in the best leagues in the world, the English or Spanish.
“It was not this year, but if I continue to do my job as I have done so, it will certainly come sooner or later.”
The three English clubs are also deliberating on approaches for holding midfielders Sami Khedira and Asier Illarramendi, whilst United have also looked at Enzo Perez and Kevin Strootman as potential signings.
Carvalho is thought ot be a popular target amongst the Premier League clubs as they look to bolster their midfields for the second half of the season.
