Arsenal general secretary David Miles has revealed that contract negotiations with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are ‘looking pretty good’.

Advanced talks are ongoing with Arsene Wenger’s dynamic duo, while reports emerged last week claiming that the pair are both demanding salary increases to a staggering £384,000 per-week.

The Gunners have 10 players who will be out of contract in less than two years, including Spain international Santi Cazorla, whose deal is due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

“Of course, we know talks are ongoing with certain players and certain contracts,” Miles told BT Sport.

“At the moment, things are looking pretty good in that way.”

Arsenal’s general secretary was also questioned about whether Wenger wants to buy anyone in the January transfer window to help push for the Premier League title this season.

He added: “Obviously that’s Arsene’s domain and it’s in very safe hands.

“I know he’s already looking for opportunities to strengthen the squad.”
