According to reports, Arsenal are close to agreeing a fee with Sporting Lisbon for midfielder William Carvalho.
The Gunners had a formal ÂŁ24million bid rejected last week by the Portuguese club, but talks have carried on between the two sides, and now reports are suggesting that a breakthrough has developed in the discussions.
It’s believed the talks are going well and the gap between asking prices are narrowing, but it’s still unknown whether Arsenal will up their price anymore.
Carvalho, who has been a target of Chelsea and Manchester United previously, has a ÂŁ37m release clause in his contract, but Lisbon are open to reducing their asking price.
The 22-year-old is only in talks with Arsenal, despite the reported interest from the other two Premier League sides.
