Loic Remy looks set for a move to Arsenal as Arsene Wenger prepares to activate the QPR forwards release clause. Wenger is confident of securing the signature of the forward following an impressive loan spell at Newcastle United where he scored 14 goals in 24 starts for the Magpies.

The forward would provide excellent competition and also cover for Arsenal’s only recognised striker Olivier Giroud, this is the case as Wenger decided not to renew the contract of Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner. Due to his goal scoring form, Remy would represent a bargain at £8 million and is a much cheaper option to other targets identified by Wenger.

Although the Gunners boss is still considering his options and he still holds an interest in AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli, Bayer Munich’s Croation target man Mario Mandzukic and Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata. Balotelli who is familliar with the pace of the English game after his stint with Manchester City would be a good option for Wenger as he looks to add firepower to his side. Mandzukic and Morata would also help increase Arsenal’s options upfront.

Wenger is on the hunt for two strikers this summer and so you shouldn’t be to surprised if you see two of these four stikers plying their trade in North London next season
