Arsenal dropped yet more points this evening after they conceded a 90th minute equaliser against Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

Just one month ago, Arsene Wenger and his side were well in with a chance of winning the Premier League, but four nightmare games later, they are now in trouble of missing out on Champions League football.

Losses to Liverpool, Stoke City and Chelsea have now left Wenger’s men well and truly out of the title-race and now looking over their shoulders as Everton and Tottenham hunt them down.

Wenger would have wanted his side to bounce back after being thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea at the weekend, but a Wilfried Bony goal silenced the home fans and stunned Wenger and his players.

The score remained 1-0 until half-time and Arsenal had it all to do if they wanted to remain in the title-race.

Then came one minute of madness for the visitors as they conceded to Lukas Podolski and then Olivier Giroud, and with just 15 minutes left on the clock, it looked like Wenger’s luck was about to change.

However, with the game nearing it’s conclusion, Mathieu Flamini was the unlucky soul who turned the ball into his own net and gave The Swans a point to head back to Wales with.

The last minute equaliser was met with boos from the home fans and means their chances of a Premier League title is all-but over.

Manager and Player Reaction:

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: “It’s difficult to swallow because the team gave absolutely everything tonight, their spirit was great. You wonder how we could draw a game like that, they had nothing and in the end it was 2-2.

“Basically, we gave them the two goals but overall the spirit was great and we have to recover from that last goal.

“The spirit was absolutely brilliant and you have to give credit to the players, even if result didn’t go our way. At 2-1 we became too conservative because of what happened on Saturday and instead of continuing to attack it worries us more to keep the score.”

Swansea’s Leon Britton: “To come away with a point – we’re happy with that. We haven’t had much luck recently but we had some today. We dug in and got a point.”

Swansea boss Garry Monk: “This team goes to the end, I knew that we would have another chance and hopefully take it. They showed that desire and that application.”
