Arsenal are ready to make a sensational move for Chile and Juventus star Arturo Vidal.
Boss Arsene Wenger has identified Vidal as a major target this summer, as he believes his midfield needs more options if his side are to challenge for the Premier League next season.
It looks likely that Arsenal will have to make do without Diaby again after another injury has caused the player problems, and it appears that Arteta could be set for a move to Atheltic Bilbao.
Wenger has been keen on Vidal for some time, and while being a pundit on French television, Wenger has been able to keep a close eye on the powerhouse midfielder.
There is no secrect that Vidal is hot property at the moment, with Manchester United and Chelsea both keen on signing the player.
Wenger knows he will have to act quickly upon securing a deal for the player, and hopes that a £44m offer will be enough to tempt Juventus to sell.
However, Juventus are under no pressure to sell but if a substantial offer was tabled by a club, it would be likely that a move could happen.
