Arsenal fans have BEGGED to Arsene Wenger not to sign Tom Cleverley this summer. Reports have emerged today that the Man United midfielder could be a possible target for the Gunners with defender Thomas Vermaelen possibly being used as part of a deal that would see him go to Old Trafford in exchange.

The club have been keeping their eye on numerous players this summer from Mario Balotelli to Serge Aurier. But it’s clear that Arsenal fans do NOT approve of Cleverley moving to the Emirates stadium. How do we know? Well Gunners fans took to Twitter after hearing the news, with the hashtag #HappyArsenalTuesday trending, to voice their displeasure.

Here are some of the MANY tweets that were unhappy with the possible Cleverley move:

BOLD_Flacko(@bold_de_creator) claimed he “can’t even wear an Arsenal shirt anymore, it would mean am okay with #wenger’s stupidity and arrogance. Happy Tuesday Arsenal.”

Albin Sunny(sunnshine96) responded to the news by asking if it was “some kinda sick joke?”

David Durose(@David_Durose) tried to reassure himself, and every other Arsenal fan, by saying: “Is Wenger perhaps acquiring French cheese? And was just misheard? He’s swapping Vermaelen for tomme, cleverly. #happy_tuesday_arsenal.”

Finally, ATLAF&R(@ATLAFR) had this to say: “Happy Tuesday Arsenal is trending because Vermaelen going to Man United and Cleverley coming to us. Oh god Wenger no.”

One thing is for certain – if the Frenchman does complete a deal for Tom Cleverley, then you can bet that Gunners fans won’t be very happy at all.
