Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has given Manchester City ‘keeper Joe Hart a massive confidence boost by claiming he is the best goalkeeper in the world.
The Englishman has been dropped by Manuel Pellegrini for the last three of City’s games due to numerous errors that have lead to goals, which have cost City massively.
However, Szczesny believes being such a young shot-stopper does make it tough on them every so often, and he believes that is the reason behind Hart’s dip, but the Polish international expects him to bounce back to his best sooner rather than later.
‘I personally rate him as one of the best, if not the best, goalkeepers in the world.
‘Age has this thing where you are not as consistent as an older goalkeeper (is).
‘You look at Petr Cech and he has been amazingly consistent over the last four or five years, but at 25 you don’t have that. So it makes it more exciting.
‘Forget the last couple of weeks where it has been very difficult for him and he has been dropped. I suppose everybody has got to go through that.
‘Over the last couple of years he was the most consistent and one of the best – it is hard to say the best – goalkeepers in the world and I am sure that he will prove that to people even though he has had some difficult times.’
