Gunners to face Liverpool for young striker

Arsenal have reportedly joined Liverpool in interest for Fulham striker Moussa Dembele.

Dembele’s form in west London has been great. He’s netted 15 goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances. The young Frenchman has been capped for the France U20 squad and comes from the same Paris-Saint Germain youth set-up that has developed players like Nicolas Anelka, Lorik Cana and Kingsley Coman over the years.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was tempted by they youngster in the January transfer window last season, and rivals Chelsea played it sweet, inviting Dembele to a Premier League clash against Manchester City in April.

But it is believed that Arsenal and Liverpool are leading the way, with Arsene Wenger looking to expand his attacking choices given the fragility of Danny Welbeck, who is set to miss most of next season with a serious knee injury. Arsenal’s interest in Dembele will also depend on whether or not they sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, Who has a very recently installed ÂŁ30m release clause on his contract.
