Mario Mandzukic has confirmed that he has signed for Spanish La Liga Champions Atletico Madrid, leaving Arsenal and Chelsea in the lurch.
Mandzukic has penned a deal at the Vicente Calderon, with Bayern Munich receiving £18 million for the player.
The deal means that both Arsenal and Chelsea have missed out on the player, who was a prized target for both sides.
The Croatian international scored 25 goals for club and country in the previous 12 months, but had fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich, managed by Pep Guardiola.
Mandzukic leaves the Allianz Arena, and will now fill the void left by Diego Costa at Atletico.
