Arsenal have been formally offered Matija Nastasic for £5million.
This could be a great deal for both clubs. Arsenal have well-documented problems at the back, and Serbian defender, Nastasic, is not getting much game time at City, and is costing them £75,000 a week to warm the bench.
Spurs are also reported to be keen on Nastasic, but Arsenal would seem favourites.
In a recent interview, City boss, Manuel Pelligrini chatted freely about his defensive options. He talked about his centre-backs, and referenced captain Vincent Kompany, his usual partner at the back, Martin Demichellis, and City’s summer signing, Eliaquim Mangala. There was no mention at all of the big Serb. When prompted Pellegrini said: ‘sorry, I forgot, Nastasic also.’
It would seem the 21-year-old is a forgotten man in the North West. Since missing the majority of the 2013/14 campaign through injury, he has become surplus to requirements. The next time we see him play could be in the red and white of the Gunners.
