Granit Xhaka and Adrien Rabiot both on Arsene Wenger’s radar
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a double-swoop for Granit Xhaka and Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.
The Gunners are preparing for a mass overhaul in the midfield, with trio Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta all likely to leave the club in the summer.
With that in mind, Wenger is already planning for life without the ageing trio, and he’s ready to add younger faces to his squad with Xhaka and Rabiot the ideal targets.
Midfield Duo Targeted
According to reports, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder could cost Arsenal around £37million, whilst the Paris Saint-Germain star will cost a much smaller fee believed to be around £15m.
Xhaka, 23, and Rabiot, 20, are both prepared to leave their current clubs, with one looking to play for a bigger European club and the other keen on moving to ensure more first-team football.
It’s looking likely that both signings will have to wait until the summer, with FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny expected to arrive in the next few days to act as cover for the injured duo of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.
Arsenal will have to act fast however to sign the duo as both are attracting interest elsewhere.
