The Gunners are extremely keen on a move for the Argentina international

Arsenal are planning a move for Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.

Sky Sports have claimed that the Gunners are keeping a close eye on the striker and although no official bid has been made by the club yet, one could soon be made in the near future.

Talks have apparently taken place between the player’s agent and the club ahead of a move though and even though any move would cost a significant amount of money, Arsene Wenger is believed to be willing to do what it takes to sign him.

Current striker Olivier Giroud may even be thrown into the mix. Because a move would require a large fee, the Gunners are considering a player plus cash deal for the forward, with Giroud going to Napoli.

Giroud happy to go to Napoli

According to the Frenchman’s agent, the striker would be more than happy to play for Napoli if that opportunity arose and it means that if a swap deal did go ahead, Giroud would seemingly have no problems with saying goodbye to the Emirates Stadium and hello to Italy.

Higuain impressed massively for both club and country last year, as he banged in the goals left, right and centre for Napoli. He finished as Serie A’s top scorer with 36 goals and he was not only one of the best in Italy but one of the best in Europe.

His finishing ability is continuing to get better and better and he holds the ball up well for a striker too. If Arsenal were to secure a deal for him, it would be a huge boost to the club in their bid to challenge for the Premier League title and potentially get their hands on it for the first time in over a decade.
