Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing to make a £17million bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.
The Italian has made over 50 appearances for PSG since joining them back in 2012, but failing to hit the net during that time could see manager Laurent Blanc get rid of him due to signing Yohan Cabaye in January, who adds a bit more goal threat to the midfield.
According to reports in Italy, Wenger is ready to make a £17million Summer bid for the 21-year-old and he sees him as the perfect replacement for Mikel Arteta, who has had a tough campaign this year in the heart of The Gunners’ midfield.
If reports are to be believed, Wenger is desperate to add a holding-midfielder to his side due to the ageing of Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, and he believes Verratti could be that replacement.
