Arsenal ready to match Loic Remy’s release clause

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy in the Summer, after the Frenchman has impressed during his loan-spell in the Premier League with Newcastle United.

The Magpies are keen on making the loan-move for Remy a permanent one in the Summer, but with reports that Arsenal are interested, the striker may favour a move to the Emirates Stadium in order to play Champions League football once again.

It is believed that the 27-year-old has an ÂŁ8million release clause in his contract, and with Wenger desperate to sign a new striker in the Summer, Remy could be the likely option after he has netted 13 goals for Newcastle so far this season.

If Arsenal or Newcastle do make an ÂŁ8million bid, QPR can only accept the bid due to the clause in his contract, and from then on, it’s down to Remy alone to whether or not he wants to complete the move.
