Arsenal are trying to sign Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria, according to the BBC.
David Ornstein, who is a sports journalist for the BBC, tweeted late Wednesday night saying that Arsenal are working on deals for the Madrid duo and are also looking into signing a central defensive midfielder and also a goalkeeper.
To end the tweet, Ornstein said that The Gunners could spend up to £100million before the transfer window slams shut in September.
It was reported earlier that Arsenal are prepared to spend up to £40million for French striker Benzema after Wenger failed to sign Luiz Suarez from Liverpool and it now appears that they want to also try and sign Benzema’s team-mate Angel Di Maria, who is not needed at the Bernabeu, especially if they sign Tottenham winger Gareth Bale.
So far The Gunners have only managed to sign Yaya Sanogo and a lot of the fans are venting their frustrations at the club and at Wenger in particular, but with this news breaking, could Arsenal be finally ready to spend big in the summer?
