Arsenal main men Mesut Ă–zil and Alexis Sanchez have stated that they want to see more big named players before signing extended deals with the club.

After a disappointing second half of the season, the top players at the club are becoming disgruntled, and have hence put any contract talks on hold in hope to put pressure on Arsene Wegner to bring in fresh faces this summer.

The duo currently have 2 years remaining on their contract, though the club will be keen to tie them down for long term contracts in the near future, as they search for their first Premier League title since the invincibles won it back in 2003/04.

It is claimed Ozil and Sanchez want around ÂŁ160,000-a-week in wages and will need to be convinced that the Arsenal squad will be strengthened by some big name signings in the summer.

Ozil and Sanchez are also both said to want reassurances that Arsenal will fight for the Premier League and Champions League next season.

After being top of the league in January, Arsenal have slipped to fourth in the league, just four points above Manchester United, leaving fans of the club disappointed.

And they now face a battle to salvage their season by qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Big names that have been said to be linked with the Gunners next season are Granit Xhaka, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leicester youngster Ben Chilwell.
