Arsenal are still interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, but are in need for him to lower his wage demands.
The Gunners are in the market for a holding-midfielder, and despite Morgan Schneiderlin, Lars Bender and William Carvalho being linked, it looks like Khedira is Arsene Wenger’s first choice.
It has been reported that earlier in the Summer, everything was agreed between the two clubs, but the deal fell through due to Khedira’s whopping wage demands, which were so high that it would have made him Arsenal’s highest ever paid player.
Madrid are keen to sell the German international, and despite interest from Bayern Munich and Chelsea, they are keen to see him go to Arsenal, where he can join up with fellow Germans; Per Mertesascker, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil.
