According to reports in the Metro, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is tracking young Belgian talent, Zakaria Bakkali from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
The 18 year-old attacker has attracted attention from a host of top European clubs following his stunning hat-trick against NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie, makin him the youngest player to do so.
The Belgian has also been linked with a move to White Hart Lane in the past due to his pace and keen eye for goal, also reasons for him being compared to Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez.
A source close to PSV told Dutch media: “Bakkali is a player that Wenger rates highly. Arsenal have kept an eye on him and are aware that other teams want him, so could move in the summer to buy him”
Wenger faces competition however from Benfica and Real Madrid, who have also sent scouts to monitor the youngster, but Wenger remains hopeful that he could capture the Belgian during the summer, if he continues to improve under PSV boss Phillip Cocu.
