Arsenal targeting a second Chelsea player

It is understood that Arsenal have submitted an ÂŁ8.5m bid for Charly Musonda.

It is not the first time that Arsene Wenger has chased the Chelsea youngster.

Musonda was a target when he was playing in Anderlecht’s academy, but he chose to move to Stamford Bridge, and snubbed Arsenal.

Since signing for the Blues, the 19-year-old has failed to make any first-team appearances, and has spent his time at the Bridge playing in the club’s youth teams.

Lack of first-team football

It is thought that the lack of first-team football that he is getting, is a main factor as to why Arsenal are now chasing the Zambian-born midfielder again.

Musonda played a huge role in Chelsea’s UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup victories, but has never looked like getting a sniff of first-team action.

He is the son of former Zambia and Anderlecht star Charles Musonda, and he said that the youngster is aware of the interest, and would not rule out a move away from Chelsea.

“I am also well aware of the news, nothing has been done yet.” Charly  said.

“I will reflect personally with my family and my agent and come to a conclusion that hopefully benefits the contiuity of my progression.”

“I’m looking forward to playing football next year.”
