According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Arsenal will scout Rennes star Ismaila Sarr in their attempt to sign the 20-year old. The Senegalese is rated £50 million and his playing style has drawn comparisons to that of Ousmane Dembele.
Sarr joined Rennes from Metz last summer on a transfer fee of €17 million. His performances for Rennes have been pretty impressive so far. In 34 matches, he has scored 8 goals and has provided 5 assists.
This season, he has already scored twice in 6 Ligue 1 games. Sarr scored a stunning goal in Rennes’ Europa League encounter against Jablonec.
However, Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in signing Sarr. Several top clubs like Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus have shown interest in signing the 20-year old.
Senegal could not go past the group stages in the World Cup but Ismaila Sarr gave a fine performance. His performance against Poland in particular drew a lot of praise.
Sarr’s agent said that several clubs have shown interest in the Rennes star. He said, “He is very fast with an excellent technique. He has the same qualities as Dembele of Barcelona. They are similar players. I have received many calls from English and German clubs and maybe even one from Italy.
Many agents from the UK have called me proposing to work with them and Ismaïla to get him to the Premier League.
