Combined XI of two heavyweights ahead of Monday night’s clash

Two Premier League giants towards the top of the table will go head-to-head on Monday night in a must win game at the Emirates.

But if the two teams of Arsenal and Manchester City were combined, who would make it into the team?

GK: Petr Cech – Arsenal

Just pips it ahead of Joe Hart based on his experience at his quality despite his age, Cech has been one of Arsenal’s top players this season, reviving his career after sitting on the bench last season at Chelsea.

RB: Hector Bellerin – Arsenal

He’s having an impressive season at the Emirates, with his pace and ability to get forward really adding to the team. He has a lot ahead, whether it’s with Arsenal or another club at some point. A great defender.

CB: Vincent Kompany – Manchester City

Kompany is the very core of this Man City team, captain and a great leader. When he isn’t in the side, City dreadfully struggle defensively, which was seen in Liverpool’s 4-1 win at the Etihad earlier on this season. When plays, so do City, and they look like title candidates again.

CB: Laurent Koscielney – Arsenal

Also an asset to the league and Arsenal’s team, he’s a fantastic player who’s good in the air and reading the play.

LB: Aleksander Kolarov – Man City

As well as defensively, Kolarov, like Hector Bellarin, is also very good at getting forward and joining attacks, and can also strike a good free-kick too, he’s a fantastic player and City miss him when he isn’t on the field.

CDM: Yaya Toure – Man City

Like Vincent Kompany, when Toure doesn’t play, City struggle. He is the heartbeat of that Manchester City midfield, controlling the tempo of games, and scoring some great goals. He’s a top, top player.

CDM: Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal

In my opinion, Ramsey is one of the greatest midfielders in the league. His creativity and pure energy is something to be admired and he would walk into any Premier League team at the moment, he’ll be going to the Euro’s with his Welsh nation next summer and will do great things for club and country.

RW: Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

What a signing this guy has turned out to be for the Gunners. He can do special, special things with the football and him staying fit could make or break Arsenal’s season. He is one of the reasons that the Premier League is of such high quality.

CAM: Kevin De Bruyne – Man City

Sold by Chelsea several years ago, many were unsure of his ÂŁ56million pricetag upon his arrival to the Etihad, but he has seriously impressed in his opening season. Fabulous passing techniques and great at creating opportunities for his players.

LW: Mesut Ozil – Arsenal

It’s taken him a couple of seasons to get going since moving from Real Madrid, but we’re starting to see the best of Mesut Ozil this year. Like De Bruyne, he’s got such wonderful technique and grace on the ball, linking everything up and creating chances for his strikers, a great player.

ST: Sergio Aguero – Man City

When he’s fit, he’s lethal. He can completely change a game by getting a goal, he’s up there with the Ronaldo’s and Messi’s of the world, and the sky’s the limit for him. If he stays fit, that’s the key.

What a team, would this team win the league this season? They’d probably walk it, we’re in for a treat in this match.
