Gunners ease past Everton in Singapore

Arsenal won the Asia Cup this afternoon after seeing off Premier League rivals Everton 3-1 in the final.

The two clubs earned their final spot during the week, as Arsene Wenger‘s side beat a Singapore XI 4-0, whilst Roberto Martinez‘s men beat Stoke City on penalties after it ended goalless.

However, they weren’t involved in a goalless affair this afternoon as the North London club eased to a 3-1 victory to pick up their first trophy of pre-season.

They will be hoping another can follow suit next weekend as they host their annual Emirates Cup.

Summary

All eyes were focused on Petr Cech at the start of the game as he made his official debut for The Gunners, and he made one remarkable save throughout the 90-minutes that’s sure to have Arsenal fans buzzing.

It was an Arsenal old-boy however who gave them the lead as Theo Walcott slotted home after being put through by Santi Cazorla.

Goal provided turned goalscorer for the second as the Spanish maestro fired home a low shot from outside the box, and it was then Mesut Ozil who wrapped the game off after slotting home.

Ross Barkley scored a superb goal to give Everton some consolation, but that’s all it was as it was Arsenal who got their hands on the Asia Cup.

Both clubs are set to return to England in the next few days, with Arsenal playing again next Saturday.
