Arsene Wenger angry at Mathieu Flamini

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not happy with midfielder Mathieu Flamini after he broke a club tradition last night during their game with Marseille in the Champions League.

The French midfielder cut his sleeves off his shirt before kick-off so that he was wearing a short-sleeved outfit rather than a long-sleeved one, like the rest of the players.

It is a tradition at the football club that all players wear the same type shirt as the captain, but Flamini decided to go against that by cutting off his own sleeves. (You can see the proof in the above image).

After the 2-0 victory against Marseille, Wenger was asked about the incident and he revealed that it will not happen again.

“I do not like that and he will not do it again. I was surprised, and we don’t want that.”

This isn’t the first time that Flamini has done it either. He also cut his sleeves ahead of the Manchester United clash at Old Trafford, but the player himself, doesn’t think he is doing anything wrong.

“I’ve been playing at top level for 10 years, I like to wear short sleeves – that’s what I like to do.”
