Arsene Wenger: ‘Giroud has improved’

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has heaped praise upon striker Olivier Giroud and has admitted that the Frenchman has improved drastically this season.

The Frenchman signed for The Gunners last Summer and was identified as the replacement for Robin Van Persie, who left to join Manchester United, and despite scoring 17-goals in all competitions, not many fans were convinced by the former-Montpellier man.

However, this season has been different for the 26-year-old and he has already netted of several occasions this season as well as providing goals for the team as well.

“How much he has improved, I don’t know. But he has, that’s obvious to everybody,” said Wenger. “If he keeps working like that then he will improve again.”

“That is what makes him great,” added Wenger. “He missed some chances but he always got the support of our fans because he shows he is ready for a fight.

“The fact that he kept going got him a goal. I like his spirit.”

“He has improved through training and the fact he has played with top players,” continued Wenger.

“They put pressure on you to take care of every pass because if you don’t do that then players like Ozil, Wilshere and Cazorla will let you know.”
