Arsene Wenger has admitted that he could possibly have to bring in new players, ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

Arsenal drew 2-2 away at Southampton, in a hard fought Premier League clash at St Mary’s, as Adam Lallana scored an equaliser to deny the Gunners the three points.

Wenger will have some selection problems to contend with, as Mathieu Flamini was dismissed for a rash 80th minute challenge on Morgan Schneiderlin and will be suspended for three matches, while Santi Cazorla was forced off with an injury.

Aaron Ramsey was also forced off, however, his injury lay off is still unknown, with Wenger sweating over a possible absence.

Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby a both out with long term injuries, so Wenger may need to strengthen thigs up for the short term.

I have nothing to tell you tonight, maybe I hope we have something to tell you because we lost a few players now,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“We have lost Flamini for three games and Ramsey, but overall I think Jack Wilshere will be back soon, so I think we’ll be OK.”

When asked about Welshman Ramsey’s injury, Wenger said: “Yes, he has had a set-back in training yesterday (Monday) but we hope it’s not for too long.

“He will certainly not be available for Sunday’s game (at home to Crystal Palace). I have to (think about ins and outs).”

Regarding the game, Wenger revealed he was happy to settle for a point, adding: “We have shown again great character.

“It’s not enough but at least considering the situation it’s not too bad the way we responded.”

The Gunners have been chasing Julian Draxler, with Arsenal advisors in Germany to attempt to tie up a deal.
