Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger refused to respond to Jose Mourinho’s comments from Friday night and passed them off as ‘silly and disrespectful’.

The Gunners progressed to the FA Cup Quarter Finals thanks to a 2-1 win over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium, and after the game, Wenger was questioned about Mourinho calling him a ‘specialist in failing’, but the Frenchman didn’t want to weigh in on the situation.

Goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski secured Arsenal’s qualification into the next round where they will host Everton, but it was the controversial Mourinho comments that took centre stage during Wenger’s post-match interview.

Wenger said on the matter: “I do not want to go into that – those were silly, disrespectful remarks. I never spoke about him in my press conference. I know one thing, it is more embarrassing for Chelsea than it is for me.”
