Chilean is wanted by Arsenal

Premier League side Arsenal have been given a major boost in their quest to sign Arturo Vidal as Juventus have reportedly told him he can find a new club.

The Chilean international has been a star-performer for The Old Lady throughout their double-winning campaign, but according to fresh reports, the Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has told the midfielder he can leave if he wants to.

Juve won their fourth consecutive Serie A title this season and also won the Coppa Italia, but fell just short in Europe as they were beaten 3-1 by FC Barcelona in the Champions League final on Saturday in Berlin.

Vidal’s Summer Plans

Vidal, who featured in the final on Saturday, is now set to fly home for international duty as Chile prepare to host the Copa America, but according to reports, a deal could be on the cards to Arsenal once the tournament has finished.

The holding-midfielder is best friends off the field with Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, and with the two at the Summer tournament together, Alexis could persuade the midfielder to join the North London club, who just won a record 12th FA Cup trophy.

Arsenal’s Transfer Business

Arsenal are in the market for a new centre-midfielder despite the surprise emergence of Francis Coquelin.

Arsene Wenger has been monitoring Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton and Geoffrey Kondogbia of AS Monaco, but it’s believed he has already withdrawn his interest in the former as Manchester United are now seen as favourites.

The Gunners could be signing Vidal after the latest developments, but they would still have to meet Juve’s asking-price of ÂŁ29.2million. If they do, Vidal would become the club’s third most expensive transfer fee, behind only Alexis and Mesut Ozil.
