La Liga club’s President Cerezo has confirmed Blues striker Diego Costa is said to be keen on a return to Atletico Madrid.
Costa was a major hit under Diego Simeone and there have been reports throughout last season that Diego Costa wants a move back to his former club.
Diego Costa had a great debut season with Chelsea and helped them to the Premier League title. However, the Spanish international took a while to get going last season, but found some form towards the end of the season.
The Chelsea star was a key player during Atletico Madrid’s title winning season and it seems that he wants to bring back those days under Simeone once again.
Filipe Luis returned to Atletico Madrid after joining The blues permanently. And now apparently Diego Costa has told Atletico Madrid that he wants a return.
Cerezo said: “We are there, he wants to come. But that is already complicated”.
“Simeone wants new players and one of those is a striker.”
“We desire a striker with goals, a good salary, and the ability to help us win many trophies.”
Costa’s suspensions and poor form last season has fueled more rumours that he is looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have already let Falcao and Pato go. So unless they sign another striker, it is very unlikely that they will want to let go of Costa.
