The Brazilian defender is a known target of Louis Van Gaal and the news will be welcomed by the Dutchman following the club’s failure to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels.
Spanish newspaper Marca have reported that Atletico are not planning to extend Miranda’s contract at the Vincente Calderon and are looking to cash in.
The 30 year-old’s current deal with the club expires in the summer of 2016 and reports suggest that Diego Simeone is already looking for replacements.
Marca also claim that Miranda will be looking for one last big deal from a club as his career begins to wind down.
