Bayern Munich and Barcelona are currently in talks over a potential swap deal, which would see Toni Kroos join the Catalan giants, while Alexis Sanchez would head to Germany. If this deal goes ahead, then it will mean that Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal would all miss out on the Chile winger.
Tuttomercatoweb in Italy claims that Barca have proposed the move as they look to secure a top replacement for Cesc Fabregas and potentially Xavi. Representatives from the Spanish club have already been sent to Brazil to keep an eye on Kroos, in the hope they can tempt Pep Guardiola to do business.
The German midfielder will be a free agent in just a year’s time, so that too could convince the Bundesliga club to cash in on him now. Man United and Chelsea have been interested in both Kroos and Sanchez and the Gunners and Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on Sanchez too, but each Prem team’s hopes will be destroyed if this deal does go ahead.
However, it is expected that even if this swap deal is agreed, both Arsenal and the Reds will still launch big money bids in the hope of clinching a deal in the final minutes. But Barcelona wouldn’t be too eager to cash in on Sanchez if they could get Kroos instead.
If this move goes ahead, it will be good news for Bayern and Barca fans, but bad news for four of the top teams in the Premier League.
