Barcelona are reported to be in advanced talks over a deal regarding Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The deal is rumoured to be worth up to £51 million and according to reports in Spain, new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has put Suarez at the top of his transfer shortlist and a deal could be done and dusted in the coming days.
It is understood that Barcelona will send a formal transfer offer to Liverpool for the player, with the Catalan club set to offer a contract that has a significant wage increase then his current one at Anfield. Barcelona have made it clear that they are out looking for a new striker as Luis Enrique has plans to change the ‘false 9’ style of play that Barcelona have kept with over the past years.
It won’t be easy for the Catalan club to sign him though, as arch rivals Real Madrid are also currently after the 27-year-old’s signature, and they have the advantage of a higher transfer budget, meaning they can offer more for the player.
