Liverpool talisman wants to leave in January, admits Jurgen Klopp
Philippe Coutinho will again try and leave Liverpool in the January transfer window, that’s according to latest reports in Barcelona-based newspaper SPORT.
They say that Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp has already conceded the Brazilian international will leave, after failing to secure his dream move to the Camp Nou during the summer.
Coutinho had made it clear that he wanted to leave but Liverpool rebuffed all offers made for him. Now though, there are reports that they will accept a fee in the region of ÂŁ134million for their wantaway star.
The Reds have not started the season well, and although it is only October they look to be in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Klopp will want to convince Coutinho to stay until the end of the season at least, and with the Premier League as competitive as ever the Reds will have to pick up their form soon if they are to challenge for the top four.
Coutinho will play a central part in that. If he was to leave in January he would be cup-tied for the Champions League, which complicates any potential move and would see his value decrease.
This doesn’t seem to have deterred the Catalan club though, who according to Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague are preparing another ÂŁ71 bid for Coutinho in the winter window.
PSG are also said to be interested in the former Inter and Vasco de Gama star, who could be persuaded to join up with childhood friend Neymar again in the French capital.
