New Deals and Contract Extensions

Not only did Liverpool sign new players, they also offered contract extensions to their star players which led to the increase in the yearly wage bill. The list includes players like the new captain Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge and Phillipe Coutinho.

– Jordan Henderson signed a new five-year deal with the reds which will keep him at Anfield until 2020, a deal which has seen him earn £100,000 per week.

– Daniel Sturridge signed a new five-year deal in 2014 after his brilliant performances alongside Luis Suarez that season which has seen him earning £120,000 per week making him one of the highest paid at the club. I wonder why Daniel Sturridge’s wages were increased because the Englishman hardly plays for the Reds as he is mostly injured.

– Brazilian Phillipe Coutinho signed a new five year deal with the reds which will keep him at Anfield for a further five years until 2020, the new contract saw his salary doubled to £75,000 from £35,000 a week.
