Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has said that club captain Lionel Messi’s injury is a major worry for Barcelona. Messi injured his arm during the first half of Barcelona’s match against Sevilla. Tests confirmed that the Argentine fractured the radial bone in his right arm and will hence, be out of action for three weeks. That means, he will miss Sunday’s El Clasico at Camp Nou.

Bartomeu said that Messi’s absence is a worry for Barcelona. He said, “We are worried. He is the most important player in world football. You will miss very important matches, but the positive message is that the team always responded and they became more responsible when Messi was not there. (Manager Ernesto) Valverde has perfect dressing room management and will take advantage of everything. I spoke with Messi and I hope he comes back soon.”

Messi will miss both of Barca’s Champions League group games against Inter Milan, one of which is on Wednesday. However, he should recover in time to play the La Liga match against Atletico Madrid which is on November 24.
