Striker struggling to get into starting team

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is not looking to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, as he is desperate to fight for a starting place in a Blues shirt.

The striker has been linked with moves away from London already, so soon after just joining in the summer. AC Milan are thought to be the ones monitoring the situation, along with Juventus and former-club Marseille.

But Batshuayi is focused on proving himself to Conte and making his spell at Stamford Bridge a success.

The 23-year-old knew when he joined Chelsea that he would be behind Spanish hitman Diego Costa in the pecking order, and was also being earmarked to be third choice this term if Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku or Alvaro Morata as intended. However, he’s probably had more game time due to the club being unable to secure those targets.

Batshuayi’s lack of appearances is also due to the impressive form of Costa, who has scored six goals in seven League games.

His first League start could soon be on the way because Costa has already picked up four yellow cards this term and needs just one more before the end of the year to be handed an automatic one game ban.
