A shock transfer could be on the cards

Southampton winger Sadio Mane could be about to join Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.

The Senegal international enjoyed a superb debut season on the South Coast, after signing on deadline day last summer, from Red Bull Salzburg.

His performances are said to have impressed Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, as the German champions line up a possible swoop.

Mane scored 10 goals last season, including netting the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history against Aston Villa.

Mane chalked up the hatrick in a staggering 2 minutes 56 seconds

It broke the long-standing record set by Robbie Fowler back in 1995.

He has become a vital player going forward for Ronald Koeman, having scored the winning goal in three 1-0 wins.

The versatile attacker has also proved he can score goals against the top clubs, having netted against Chelsea and Arsenal last campaign.

The 23 year old’s pace, and finishing ability has excited Saints fans, who will not want a repeat of last summer’s transfer window, where five of their best players departed.

Mane currently has three years left on his current contract at St. Mary‘s.

If he stays, Mane will play in the Europa League next season, after Southampton qualified thanks to Arsenal’s FA Cup win.

Southampton finished 7th last season, their highest ever Premier League finish.
