According to French sports daily Le10, Bayern Munich are eager to sign France star Benjamin Pavard from Vfb Stuttgart. Bayern showed interest in the right back last summer but Pavard did not want to leave Stuttgart. The Bavarians are again plotting to rope him in the summer.

Pavard rose to prominence after his performances for France in the World Cup this summer. He scored a remarkable half-volley against Argentina during the last 16 which was later voted as the goal of the tournament.

The  22-year old joined Vfb Stuttgart from boyhood club Lille in 2016 and has made 70 appearances for the club, scoring two goals. This season, Pavard has featured in all of Stuttgart’s 13 Bundesliga matches so far.

However, Vfb Stuttgart are currently 18th in the table and are in danger of facing relegation. Additionally, a move to Bayern Munich is a guarantee of Champions League football. Hence, Bayern may be able to convince Pavard to join them.

Bayern’s current right back options include Joshua Kimmich and Rafinha. Hence, even if Pavard secures a move to Bayern Munich, securing a starting place ahead of Joshua Kimmich seems very difficult.
