Second-Leg of Champions League is tonight

Bayern Munich host Barcelona is a Champions League semi-final tie which was more than likely decided last week, due to the exploits of Mr Messi.

Yes, the 27-year-old Argentine wowed supporters in a jam-packed Nou Camp last Wednesday evening, netting a brace, and stealing the show in the process, in a 3-0 victory over the reigning Bundesliga title-holders.

Pep Guardiola’s anticipated home-coming to Barcelona, didn’t go exactly according to plan, with Munich swept away in 13 second-half minutes.

The humbling defeat leaves Bayern with an uphill struggle to qualify for an unlikely final showpiece in Berlin in a few weeks, before they take to the hallowed Turf of the cauldron that is the Allianz Arena, on Tuesday evening.

To make matters worse for Pep Guardiola, two of his better players remain out injured for the visit of Barcelona. Frank Ribery (ankle) and Arjen Robben (stomach) will both miss the tie. Defender David Alaba (knee)  and Holder Bastuber (thigh) are also unavailable for selection.

World Cup winning hero, Mario Gotze, will also be pushing for a starting place this evening, it is also likely that Thiago could start against his former employers, having impressed in recent weeks.

Sebastian Rode has also been cleared to play against Barcelona, after recovering from a recent hamstring injury.

The Bavarian outfit are likely to start with a 3-4-3 formation, as they look to move swiftly on from events in the last leg between the two European giants.
