Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has been a very important player for the club during the previous few seasons and is considered one of the best centre-backs in the world. But he has been heavily linked with an exit throughout the summer transfer window.
The German International reportedly wants to leave the club as he is seeking a new challenge. Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for him but the deal never materialised as Premier League transfer window shut down.
The centre-back has also been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain as they are looking to bolster their squad and with the European transfer window still open, he could still join them.
Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld is wanted by Bayern Munich this summer as they look to replace Boateng according to Daily Star.
The Belgium International has been linked with a move away this summer after the club has struggled to come to terms with the defender’s high week demands. They do not want pay such high wages and may sell him this summer as he has a release clause in his contract which will drop his value to £25 million next summer.
The centre-back just made three appearances for the club since returning from injury back in February. Though Mauricio Pochettino claimed that his absence is not due to contract situations but it’s hard to believe because the defender was one of the first names in the starting XI before transfer talk was sparked.
However, he was selected in the Belgium World Cup squad and helped his team to reach the semi-finals. But they were beaten by France, who went on to win the tournament.
