A tragic thing happened in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The Belgium-Sweden was abandoned after two people were shot dead in Brussels.
Monday’s Group F encounter was scheduled in Belgium at the King Baudouin Stadium. It was stopped after the first half-time. It was made during half-time with the score level at 1-1.

This happens after two Swedish football fans were shot dead in Brussels ahead of tonight’s game.

According to BBC, Belgian police confirmed the deaths of two individuals, with Prime Minister Alexander de Croo confirming the victims were Swedish.
All fans were also informed that the game had been suspended and they would need to remain in the stadium until cleared to leave.
A statement from the Swedish FA reads, “For security reasons, the Belgian police want Swedish supporters to stay in the arena. Take part in information from officials, responsible authorities and [Sweden] staff on site.”
UEFA later confirmed the complete abandonment of the match. Prosecutors are treating the shooting as terrorism. Fans were safely removed from the stadium in two hours.
