Bernardo Silva feels Manchester City don’t need any favours in the title race and are ready to dig up their own fate.
An excellent hat-trick from Sergio Aguero fired the title holders back at the top of the table as Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 6-0. The score line could have been more humiliating had Aguero not missed a simple tap in.
At one time Liverpool looked destined to end their 29 year long title drought as the Reds had a healthy 10 points lead from City who seemed to have lost the plot. But Jurgen Klopp’s side couldn’t maintain the momentum and succumbed to the pressure providing leverage to the defending champions.
With Manchester United scheduled to host Liverpool City would be counting on their archrivals but Silva insists they would like to concentrate on their own performance rather relying on another team in the title chase.
“Of course it is better if they lose some points. but I think all of us, not only the manager, but all of the players, have been saying to focus on our job.
“If we don’t win our games, it doesn’t matter what they do, so that is the most important thing now.
