Bernardo Silva has called on his fellow Manchester City players to grind themselves out in a bid to register a win against Southampton.
Back to back losses have left them behind in the title race and they are slipped to the third places following their loss to Leicester City in the Premier League. The Sky Blues need to pull themselves up to recover the lost ground but it won’t be easy it seems.
Southampton have looked like a completely different unit since Ralph Hasenhuttl took charge and two wins in the last three matches have lifted the mood at St Mary’s and City are likely to be welcomed with a hostile reception.
Silva who has played a pivotal role this season has told his players to give their best shot. “The last days were not good for us, to lose two games in a row. Especially in this important part of the season, it is never good.
“Now [we have] to check what we have been doing wrong, try to improve those areas and start winning games as fast as possible.
“Seven points starts to be a lot and we have to admit we are not in a good moment and try to come back from that. We need a good reaction from all the lads, that is what we will try to do at Southampton.”
