Chelsea are now reportedly favourites to sign Borussia Dortmund winger, Marco Reus.
The German World Cup winner has emerged as a prime target for several top club’s across Europe, after it was rumoured that Reus was unsettled at Dortmund, having stalled over a new contract with the Bundesliga club.
However, despite closing in on any proposed deal, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will have to pay around £25 million to get his man, with Reus having a buy-out clause of that amount.
Chelsea are also planning to throw in Andre Schurrle in the deal, to attempt to convince Dortmund to sell.
Chelsea also face competition from Real Madrid, who are prepared to open up contract negotiations in order to bring him to the Spanish capital in time for next season.
Elsewhere, Premier League interest in Reus remains strong, with Liverpool and Arsenal also keen to acquire his services.
