PSG want talks with another Chelsea player in Branislav Ivanovic. The French champions have previously registered interest in Eden Hazard, Oscar and Petr Cech and they have also signed David Luiz from the Blues.

Now they are targeting defender Ivanovic, after realising he isn’t being offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge yet. The 30-year old has two years left on his current deal and he is keen to sign a new contract which would see him end his career in England. However, Chelsea’s policy is now similar to other big clubs, where they would only offer one-year contract extensions to players over 30.

This means that any new contract talks would only begin next year for the Serbian, when he has just 12 months left on his current deal. Ivanovic and his representatives wanted to add two more years to his deal but it appears now that they won’t be able to. Step in PSG, who are ready to offer him the contract he wants and bid ÂŁ15m for him.

Jose Mourinho is also trying to lower the age of the current squad, with Kurt Zouma in talks and enquiries made for Raphael Varane, who currently plays for Real Madrid. The Blues boss does however recognise the need for experience in his side too, which is why he has also approached Diego Costa, Filipe Luis, Tiago and Diego Godin over possible moves.

With the new policy in place and the boss looking for younger replacements with some new experienced players to join as well, it may mean the defender’s time at the club may be up with PSG willing to offer him a way out.
