Brazil legend Rivaldo has said that Richarlison is worth the price Everton paid. The 21-year old Brazilian joined Everton on a transfer fee of £40 million from Watford. So far, he has scored three goals for the Toffees. As a result of his performances, he got his first call-up to the national team.
Rivaldo said, “Nowadays it’s hard to know if a player really deserves the money spent on him, because transfer values are high. I believe he’ll justify the investment at Everton. He is making things happen. He’s producing solid performances in the Premier League and is clearly a good player, with great potential that could be really important for Brazil soon.”
Rivaldo believes that the 21-year old must keep his emotions in check. Richarlison was sent off against Bournemouth due to a headbutt and hence, received a three-match ban. The Brazil legend said, “He was sent off after losing his temper and needs to understand that to become a top player he must relax and avoid this kind of behaviour. I’m sure he will learn from this lesson, after all it was his mistake and he is the one that will suffer with that and he certainly won’t repeat it again soon.”
Richarlison will miss Everton’s match against West Ham due to the ban. However, he should hopefully play for Brazil in their friendlies against USA and El Salvador in the United States.
